Laboratory Metrology Training

The OWM Laboratory Metrology Program provides International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)-accredited metrology training for a wide range of metrology stakeholders. This includes state laboratory metrologists; state and local weights and measures officials; representatives for the commercial weights and measures industry; federal metrology laboratory staff; and metrologists from other National Metrology Institutes and Designated Institutes (NMI/DIs). 

 

Laboratory metrology training operates within the broader OWM Training Program. The current schedule for all laboratory metrology seminars, webinars, and other associated events are provided in the OWM Training and Events Calendar. All requests for course attendance should be submitted via the OWM Contacts System. Any questions regarding sign-up or registration are provided in the Training FAQs

Laboratory Metrology Courses

Each laboratory metrology course is currently presented as both in-person seminar and online webinar formats. Details of each course is provided here: 

Metrology seminar attendees are required to provide safety-toed footwear complying with at least the I/C-75 rating of ANSI Z41.1.

All in-person seminars will meet in the NIST Administration Building 101 (Room B11) located at 100 Bureau Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20899 on the Gaithersburg, MD campus.
